Yes. Every single piece is handcrafted by our women artisans with intention, skill, and care. No two pieces are exactly the same because no two hands are.
Q. Does buying from SewMuchBetter mean I am buying sustainably?
Not always and we will be honest about that. We do not claim to be perfectly sustainable. What we do claim is that every choice we make is a deliberate step in that direction. Every dye we choose over a synthetic one. Every scrap we upcycle instead of discard. Every fair wage we pay instead of cutting corners. We are not a sustainable brand. We are a brand that is genuinely, consistently trying to be and we think that honesty matters more than the label. 🌿
Q. The Colours We Choose
Marigold gives you the sharpest yellow you have ever worn. Indigo runs deeper than any synthetic blue ever will. Onion skin, roots, bark the earth has always had more range, more boldness, and more character than anything a lab could produce. We did not make natural dyes vibrant. They always were. We just stopped pretending otherwise.
Q. Do natural dyes fade over time?
Natural dyes deepen and evolve beautifully with time and wash. This is not a flaw; it is the nature of honest colour. Your piece will not look the same in five years. It will look better.
Q. What does SewMuchBetter actually stand for?
A needle only works when a hand holds it. A thread only has value when skill runs through it. A garment only lasts when it is made with intention. Q. How do I know my size?
We recommend measuring your bust, waist, and length before ordering. Not sure? Reach out and we will personally help you find your fit.
Q. Can I request alterations?
Yes, within reason. Talk to us before placing your order and we will do our best to make it perfect for you.
Shipping & Delivery
Q. How long will my order take?
Ready pieces are delivered within 7–10 working days. Custom or made-to-order pieces take 10–12 working days. Every piece is handcrafted with care and worth every day of the wait.
Q. Do you ship pan India?
Yes. Wherever you are, we will find you.
Returns & Exchanges
Q. Can I return my order?
Returns are accepted only if the product is damaged or defective from our end. An unboxing video and clear photographs must be shared on the same day of delivery. Requests raised after 24 hours will not be accepted.
Q. Can I exchange my order?
Yes. Exchanges are available for size and colour within 48 hours of delivery. The product must be unworn, unwashed, and returned with all tags intact.
Q. Can I cancel my order?
Yes within 2 hours of placing it. Once your order is processed or dispatched, cancellation is not possible. Custom and made-to-order pieces cannot be cancelled once confirmed.

We are Akriti and Bhavya, two best friends from Kanpur who believe sustainable fashion should be the most exciting thing in your wardrobe, not the hardest thing to find.
Q. Who makes your products?
Local women whose creativity was always extraordinary. They just spent years being told it wasn’t worth anything. We gave that talent a platform, a fair wage, and the recognition it always deserved. The woman behind every piece has a name, a skill, and a stake in this brand.
Q. Why SewMuchBetter?
Because fast fashion had its chance. Because our Dadis never threw away what had value they turned scraps into art and kept a good saree for life. Because natural dyes were never meant to be dull. Because the earth was never beige. And because in the age of AI we choose human.
Wash Care & Product Handling
Q. How should I wash my SewMuchBetter piece?
Hand wash only in cold water. Natural dyes and delicate handwork do not belong in a washing machine. Treat it the way your dadi treated her best saree.
Q. What detergent should I use?
Use a mild, gentle detergent. Avoid anything with bleach, harsh chemicals, or strong enzymes. When in doubt, plain cold water works just fine. pH neutral detergents like Ezee, Beco, Genteel.
Q. Should I dry it in direct sunlight?
No. Dry in shade always. Direct sunlight can alter the natural dye tones over time. Hang flat or on a wide hanger to retain the shape.
Q. How should I store my piece?
Fold gently and store in a cool, dry place. For sarees and delicate pieces, wrap in a soft muslin cloth. Avoid plastic bags — the fabric needs to breathe.
Q. My piece has a slight variation in colour or texture. Is that normal?
Completely normal and entirely intentional. Natural dyes and handcraft mean no two pieces are identical. What you have is not a flaw. It is proof that a human made it. 🌿
Q. Can I iron my piece?
Yes, on low heat. For eco-printed or delicate pieces, iron on reverse side with a thin cloth in between. Never iron directly on embellishments or printed areas. Steam press.
Q. The colour looks slightly different from the website. Why?
Natural dyes photograph differently under different lighting. Small variations in tone are part of the beauty of earth-based colour. We always try to photograph as accurately as possible but nature, as always, has the final word.
